Getting started

How do I become a patient?

If you are interested in becoming a patient of Dr. Torrijos at Tentie Psychiatry, please fill out the telephone screening request form. You will receive a brief 10-15 minute phone call from the doctor within 1-2 business days to understand your concerns and mutually determine if you are a good fit for this practice.

How soon can I be seen?

You can be seen as early as the same day, depending on availability, and usually within 1-2 weeks. This is a great advantage over insured settings, where you can often wait months, up to a year or even more.

Do you treat children and adolescents?

No. This practice is only for adults 18 years of age and older. If you are an established patient and know someone who needs a child and adolescent psychiatrist, we will be glad to provide information on specialists in the area.

Do you treat older adults?

Yes. Adults 65 and older are welcome. However, Dr. Torrijos cannot see adults 65 and older who are currently enrolled in Medicare.

Do you treat people with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder?

Yes. Adults with special needs or autism spectrum disorder are welcome. However, Dr. Torrijos cannot see adults who are currently enrolled in Medicaid.

What conditions do you not treat or evaluate?

Primary eating disorders and substance abuse (alcohol, illicit drug use) are outside the scope of this practice. We also do not provide forensic evaluations, fit-for-duty evaluations or disability determinations.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can directly request an appointment by calling or texting +1 (346) 655-5152 or, preferably, by filling out this form.
