San Antonio is a majority Hispanic city, and the shortage of Spanish-speaking psychiatrists is felt sharply there. Dr. Torrijos is a native Spanish speaker and provides the entire course of care in Spanish — the evaluation, the explanation of the diagnosis, the discussion of options and the written materials — without an interpreter.
