See a psychiatrist from anywhere in Texas

Full comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment by secure telehealth services — the same physician, the same appointment length, without the drive.

Telepsychiatry is an available tool and not a lesser version of care. It reduces travel and wait times, and it supports your treatment needs via secure telehealth services. If you are unable to travel due to transport issues or illness, or if it is simply your preference, you can be fully evaluated from the comfort of your home.

How it works

  1. Request a screening phone call at +1 (346) 655-5152 or use this form.
  2. If we both agree that Tentie Psychiatry is the right fit for you, an initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (up to 90 minutes) will be scheduled at a time and date that works for you.
  3. You will receive a secure video link. You can join from a computer or any smartphone.
  4. Prescriptions, when indicated, are sent electronically to your pharmacy.
  5. You need to be physically present in the State of Texas at the time of the appointment.

Frequently asked

Is telepsychiatry as effective as an in-person appointment?

For psychiatric evaluation and medication management, the research consistently finds outcomes comparable to in-person care. What matters more than the medium is the length and quality of the appointment.

Can I switch between telehealth and in-person appointments?

Yes. Preferably, initial evaluations are conducted in person, but via telehealth services is perfectly fine. You can switch at any time based on your needs and convenience. Some exceptions can apply, especially under Federal regulations of controlled substances and upon clinical considerations based on your particular situation.

Is the video telehealth platform actually secure?

Yes. Appointments are conducted on a HIPAA-compliant platform covered by a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Consumer video-calling apps are not used for your clinical appointments.

What happens if the connection fails?

Depending on the circumstances and the appropriateness of the situation, Dr. Torrijos will call you at the number on file to complete the appointment by phone. A dropped connection is usually not treated as a missed appointment. We will make that decision with you.
