Working with your therapist and physicians

Coordination with other providers in your care is part of your treatment. With your consent, your care is streamlined for careful and accurate interventions in collaboration with other medical or behavioral specialists in your care.

Why is this important?

Most patients in psychiatric treatment are seeing more than one clinician, and most of those clinicians have never spoken to each other. The result is a therapist, primary care physician or specialist prescribing something that the psychiatrist is not aware of, or vice versa.

Who we coordinate with

  • Your therapist or counselor. The most frequent and most valuable collaboration. Therapy and medication work better when both clinicians know what the other is seeing.
  • Your primary care provider. For laboratory work, medical contributors and interaction review.
  • Your other specialists — neurology, endocrinology, cardiology, OB-GYN, sleep medicine — where their treatment intersects with yours here.
